I worked on cars for the past two days, and I now feel confident in my ability to fix the most common car failures, and to understand what someone is talking about when they are talking about the basics of a car and what it does.
The tasks I completed on my dad’s car were:
Chains put on
Tires changed
Fluids checked
Figured out how to change the oil
Jump started
An understanding of the different parts of the car and how they work

a battery, an engine, a complex system, the ability to carry anything for thousands and thousands of miles
two hands, some tools, a human, the ability to fix a 4,000 pound hunk of metal.
a small contraption, something to turn it, the ability to lift 2 tons
lying on the ground, the crisp autumn air against my skin, my face one with dirt, the ability for a smile to come effortlessly
motivation, curiosity, a wanting to prove, the ability to try something new
the intricate working of a vehicle, amazement, the ability to produce combustion to start one of the most commonly used things in our society.
I have the ability
