It’s easier to feel safe when you’re surrounded by family and friends, but to be honest here, I feel super safe. In Mazunte I feel like people are all very well intentioned. When somebody comes up to talk to you in western life, you always think “Oh, who are you?” Whereas here the first response is to say “Hi, Would you like to sit?” I feel like it’s a switch, and that’s super interesting.
