Today is the first day of our 2012 Writing Retreat program! Last night, 26 teens from across the U.S. and Canada converged upon our retreat site in Hyannis, Massachusetts. After a burrito dinner and orientation meeting, writing commenced at midnight.

Between today and November 15th, each of our students and staff will attempt to complete an ambitious, self-chosen writing project. Many are attempting the NaNoWriMo challenge of writing 50,000 words of fiction. Others are focusing on poetry, short stories, blogging, or graphic novel illustration. I’m writing a short e-book on online travel fundraising.
Here on the U.A. blog you’ll find excerpts, stories, and photos shared by our retreat members. Subscribe to our blog via e-mail or RSS to stay in the loop over the next month!
